Reviews Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Disappointing airport overall. You will not be let into the terminal unless you are a passenger and then only 2-3 hours before departure. Nothing to do in large check in hall but wait or change money at ridiculous rate. Lineups are chaotic, a bit better for business Class. Friendly staff but not 100% efficient as it took nine minutes (I timed it, yes) from greeting to good bye. Past security there's a hodgepodge of stores and the lounge offered to Business Class passengers by Royal Brunei is a disgrace. A small room with token food items. There is a similar named - larger - lounge accessible via Priority Pass which I used which had a very nice selection of everything.

Arrival experience was great at Terminal TWO. Very fluid process to get out. Took a little while for hotel shuttle to arrive but very close after exits.
Note that departure experience Terminal ONE was dismal, separate review.

Manila T1 is an awful airport, one of the worst for sure, it is very tiring to get there, through all the Manila traffic, Sunday is the best day
The Terminal is awful, Immigration is long and drawn out
Thai Airways lounge here has to be the smallest and crappiest Business Class lounge anywhere
If you can possibly avoid this Airport do so . . .

Dreadful. If ever an airport should be razed to the ground, then Manila is definitely the top candidate. Total chaos, unorganised, and a dystopia. They should send everyone working there to Singapore or Bangkok to see how a proper modern 21st Century airport should work. Manila Airport is a dreadful advert for the Philippines. This is an airport in still in the 1950's. Avoid if possible.

Good airport, nice staff, very helpful. Somewhere between modern and old looking but seems to run pretty efficiently. Best bet to and from is Uber which works surprisingly well from here and is very cheap.

One of the worst airports I've been to. Basic facilities aside, major fail in operations and processes. Waiting time for inter-terminal shuttle more than an hour, when it's supposed to be 30 min, designed to make you miss your connecting flight.
Flight bound for some countries have double x-ray screening. Most other airports would have streamlined this to do screening once. No idea why they don't do gadget check at first screening point and having to do a second one at the gate. How ridiculous is that? Worst thing you can do for a traveller having beautiful memory of the country is to screw up departure experience at the last touch-point.

This is relatively small airport, with almost no inside life, very few unattractive locales, and correspondingly no food choice.Yes there are Starbucks and Illy, and that does it.
Talking operation, our plane was late two hrs, I learned that due to bad tower opreation that is just very normal due to technicalities and slot distribution.
WiFi via captive portal until it finally connects is another adventure.
Only bright side are the people, who are totally friendly and helpful, here included all check-in, customs, security, etc.

NAIA Terminal 2 hands down the worst airport in SE Asia. Takes about an hour to checkin with PAL and barely no facilities at all in airside.

I've had way to many flights from this airport for my liking.. No more until they build a new one and employ flight controlers that can do their job. Always delays on runway.. Always!
The Airport is ghetto and always madly populated, just an uncomfortable and unpleasant place to be. No More.

For such a busy airport not having a bus(not to mention should have a train) running throughout the it's a big problem. Hundreds get stranded in the airport until morning. Information desk doesn't have Manila maps or Manila public transport maps. It was nice two have internet available though.

Though there was a typhoon that came in when I landed that had many other airlines coming in late, It was just ridiculously crowded. The workers seemed to be stressed when there were only a few stalls open for many passengers coming in. its a little disorganized.

I just don't like how we need to be in a security check in the waiting area. It makes it difficult when you are traveling alone and you want to use the facilities that you have to go on a security check again...

Immigration kinda narrow minded enforcing the having an outbound ticket' policy before boarding a PHI bound flight. Been to almost 40 countries. Flew one way to more than 20 it's never been a problem till Philippines. NAIA doesn't have public transport at night however there are flights landing at night. Therefore lots of people not willing to be pay cabs hi fees end up sleeping on the floor till morning. Thought that was sad to see families with babies and so on..The airport loop should run every hour or every half hour or those filthy jeeps should be allowed to pick up people from in from of terminal rather than pushing pax to walk obscure unfamiliar streets to find them. Information desk not very useful not having maps of Manila, bus schedule..Dept of tourism desk at night unattended as well.

For a national capital airport a real catastrophe. Terminal 3 is a little better and slowly improving, public transport is non existent and traffic jams force you to get a taxi hours before your flight. I hate arriving in Manila NAIA.
WiFi is very unreliable.

Terminal 3 is trying to live up to the reputation of Terminal 1 as the worst airport terminal ever. Noisy and chaotic. Worst thing is when you arrive. Take tons of time by car/taxi as all roads leading away from this terminal are just jammed with traffic.

Manila airport just can't seem to get its act together. From the moment you step off the plain (where smack on you run into a gaggle of people cluttering up the jetway) you know you are in an airport that is not professionally run. It is the only airport where one has to complete a health declaration and then wait in a line to hand it over to someone. And the immigration waiting time was horrendous! It amazes me that the operation of the airport is so bad that more immigration officers on duty when 3-4 wide body aircraft arrive in short order...
The airport was in the midst of another of its notorious scandals when I went through and it just gave the feeling of a place where I'd rather not be.

This airport is a real disaster. Called the centennial terminal it is the same as any other terminal in Manila, you are lucky to be through. The terminal inside is not too bad, has free WiFi and acceptable waiting areas, but the absolute inconsequent security checks prevent your friends from coming inside, so you have to wait outside, but there are only a few seats and one Jollibee outside. Avoid going to the cafeteria, overpriced and totally ugly.

This airport is a terrible airport if you have to make a transfer between terminals. There is no internal connection between the terminals and you have to exit the airport, take a taxi or a bus shuttle (Taxis are incredibly expensive compared to the rest of the Philippines). For example if you have to go from T1 to T3, you can easily spend half an hour in a taxi.
I had to go to T4 for my internal flight, which is a very poor terminal. It looks more like a poor train station. It is tiny and has one floor only. There are not many chairs for sitting due to the lack of space, so many have just to sit on the floor. The attendants at the check-in desks were incredibly slow and inefficient.
The gates are squeezed onto each other, and waiting area was freezing cold due to exaggerated air conditioning. If I hadn't had a sweater to put on, I would have got sick definitely. Also, all the flights departing while I was there, were all late. And there was little as no information about delays. My flight was 1 hour late, and the DELAY notice appeared on the schedule screen just half an hour after it should already have departed. Fortunately, they handed out free water and sandwiches for the delay affected passengers.
Moreover T4 has no jet bridges, and even if it was raining, there was no bus driving passengers to the aircraft. They gave you an umbrella, but there were 3 cm of water on the ground and all passengers had to walk in that water til the aircraft.
Only plus point: the Wi-Fi was working great even in the terrible T4.
No Wi-Fi at the check-in area in T1.
T1 and T3 are fine, but T1 slightly overcrowded and limited sitting space at some gates, I had to sit on the floor for the whole time.

While CX use Terminal 3 in MNL, which is a relatively new terminal, the facility there can consider terrible.
WiFi network cannot cover the waiting area around the gate, but even if it is covered, you just cannot connect to it. Signal strength and connectivity is a bit better when you are outside the restricted area.
Food and retail services is virtually not exist after immigration, so better grab your food from the floor above the check-in counter.
The airport seems still working on the toilets, thus it is not yet fully open. Overall, it is hard to spend some 3 hours in airport before boarding.

Getting to the airport is nothing short of a nuisance or an annoyance. Traffic is bad and undisciplined.
Check in is fair as the counter is temporary due to airport renovations ongoing.
Security check is a pain. Right at the front door of the terminal, unlike anywhere else. It reeks of confusion and is an opportune time for things to be stolen.
Terminal facilities are dismal for an international airport in a capital city. Shoddy duty free shops with poor selection. No decent restaurant. Bathrooms smell.
Wi-Fi is very slow.
The airline lounge for Malaysia Airlines has no air conditioning or whatever there is does not work. It was stinking hot. And the toilet was broken down.
I realize the airport is undergoing a long overdue renovation. But still, good sense would dictate making decent facilities available I. At least one part.
Another annoyance is the proliferation of mobile phone desks.
Unbelievably bad.

I work in the airline industry and travel all over the world. I can honestly say this is the worst airport in a capital city that I've ever been too. In fact it might be the worst airport period. It's completely disorganized. There's a significant shortage of designated airport cabs. The Wi-Fi barely works in terminal 3 and it's only marginally better in terminal 2.

Despite being said that the Manila airport is one of the worst airports in the world, I had no problems or delays up to now. Though, after boarding in Manila on a flight to Davao City with Cebu Pacific, my baggage was damaged with a kind of sticky coffee which entered the bad and damaged some books and make everything dirty, sticky and smelly. The Wi-Fi connection worked great.

The worst airport I've ever been to! Not working ATMs, no places to sit apart from outside and it's at the intrnational terminal. If you're unlucky to fly from Terminal 4 then pay for your safety. Security not really helpful :(

This has got to be the worst airport I've had the misfortune to visit (and I've been to a few)!
Nothing about this airport works properly.
Chronic traffic congestion around the airport perimeter roads.
Terminal 1 is like a building site! Noise, dirt and lack of space are the dominant factors in this area.
Because of the building work food and retail venues are virtually non-existent.
The first/business lounge is a joke! Not enough seating. What seating there is is uncomfortable. The food, I wouldn't serve to a wild animal. No toilets available in the lounge area.
Immigration was crowded and slow, not enough staff.
If I could, I wouldn't award any stars for this airport. To say that this airport is terrible is being overly generous.

One of the worst airports that I have travelled. Very hot inside, slow check-ins. However immigration was fast. Duty free shops sucks.
I tried to grab a water bottle inside and took me a million miles to walk and grab water.
Also you have to pay a fee for using the airport I paid 550 pesos.
Probably my terminal was bad (Terminal 1)

Worst airport if you need to change terminals. They are kilometers one from another. Very annoying. Remember if you are just transfering you dont need to pay the airport fee, they will try to force you to pay it but insist that you dont need it. Just in case keep your previous boarding card, if you dont have it any more, tell them to look into their system, it's there that you are on your transfer.

Keep cash with you to pay the airport fee...
It also takes a lot of time to travel in between terminals.
