Economy class, terrible. It was an AA350 900 and still so crammed, never seen so many people stuffed into one cabin. I have flown J internationally many times with them but since this was a quick domestic I thought I would fly cattle. VN have re-defined the term for cattle - treat people like animals

Flight safety is a big issue with VNA. Partially because Vietnamese are very ignorant regarding their own safety, but also the cabin crew pays little attention to safety during the flight. Toilets were not locked before landing, seat belts were not checked prior to departure and prior to landing... Result: many pax didn?t have their seat belts secured during takeoff and landing.

I flew on Vietnam Airlines from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City and back on their Airbus A321-200. I was positively surprised with the service. Even though we always boarded late we took off and landed fairly on time. On the 1h 50min flight a hot meal with drinks was served. The meal was good and compared to the ones served on European carriers on intercontinental flights. There was no IFE but, for a 2h flight that is acceptable. The one thing I was really impressed with was the legroom. I am 186cm and I found the legroom to be in abundance. I would even say that it was better than on carriers like Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia. Overall, my experiences on Vietnam Airlines have been very positive and I would fly VN again.

The Good:
+respects sky priority boarding in HAN
+airplane is clean ...

The Bad:
-No preferred seating option accessible when checking even as Elite+ though emergency seats were all empty during flight (will try to clarify that on next flights)
-No preferred security lines available T1 in HAN
-Slim seats in coach with little padding
-Coach service limited to a crew member dropping a box at each seat without asking (contains a sandwich and small cake) followed by a few member dropping a glass of water without asking again (no other beverage option)
-A lot of the crew members English is limited
-Entertainment limited to central screen playing prank videos but no port anywhere to connect headsets ... weird

The flight was okay. There was no in-flight entertainment or wifi (Maybe it was a domestic flight). The services were below average: boring magazine, flight attendants were rude

Captain handle situation very well. Torrential raining keeps airplane at bay but he calms down by making repeated announcement. Nevertheless, the crew are too reactive. They also do their job in a very inefficient way. Otherwise, inflight services isn't turned on. Don't know why.

The flight from kl was not really nice. The stewards were moody, even the head steward so it wasn't a very good flight. Even the aircond was very hot and the flight was stuffy. However the flight coming back from Hanoi was great.... I have to comment that the food on both flight were to die for!! There is also to IFE

Plane was changed from B787 Dreamliner to B777, without any information. The old B777 was extremly scraby! The old Business seats had broken reading lights, broken entertainment screens, broken headrest and were NO full beads like the dreamliner. BIG BIG Dissapointment!

A lovely airline to fly with. Friendly staff, modern tidy planes. Business class was just bigger seats and better food, drink, more legroom. But all I needed for a short flight.
