Tegel is a nice and tiny but old airport. Getting through Security wasn't a problem but really fast! That's really cool, I will definitely fly again from and to Tegel.

It was tiny, crow, confusing (only 3 gates per security control...) with long queues and just one cafeteria per subdivision. Although it's true it has very interesting architecture, in all its 70s quirkiness.

Terrible. Awful. Nowhere near enough facilities. Have to walk upstairs with baggage to get to Schengen terminal. No water fountains.

One star is too much for TXL since it's the absolutely most useless airport in Europe. This time they didn't manage to load our luggage on time so we missed our slot. Another hour of my life I lost because of TXL.

Ich mag Tegel. Ich wei?, der Flughafen ist alles andere als modern und hat seine Kapazitat schon langst uberschritten. Trotzdem fliege ich gerne von/nach Tegel. Beim Anflug hat man bei richtigem Sitzplatz einen wundervollen Ausblick auf die Stadt und fuhlt sich gleich wieder zu Hause. Au?erdem liebe ich das Retro-Feeling mit den alten Anzeigetafeln im Hauptterminal und in welchem gro?en Flughafen dieser Welt ist alles so ubersichtlich und mit so kurzen Fu?wegen zu erreichen? Ich werde Tegel schon ein wenig vermissen.

No train line to the airport so local buses are the only public transportation and they can get wery packed with passengers and luggage. Long queues to the bag drop and I didn't see self-service check-in for any other airline than LH. Once you're past the security check, there's not much to do as the airside area has been split into separate waiting areas for two gates and you can't leave that area. Only a small snack bar and a small duty free shop in the airside area.

It's about time the new airport opens. For departing people it's a mess. Waiting more than hour to get through the security (only 3 flights were leaving). Flight was delayed by almost 3 hours, 2 toilets for the waiting-room for 3 or so flights.

TXL is a great Airport!
I really hope the German government changes its mind and will keep TXL open!

However, the baggage handlers need more training.

However, their baggage handler?s need more training. Why paying for upper class tickets if baggage handler don?t do their job and deliver priority last?

Die Crew und ich mussten fast 35 Minuten auf den Airportservice warten, der mich abholen sollte. Mein Rollstuhl war an der Gepackausgabe und nicht am Flugzeug.
Flugzeug war auf einer Au?enposition, so dass man mich die Treppe hinunter tragen musste

Although I love Tegel airport for plane spotting, I have to admit that it is on the decline for transport. Missing investments due to the continued promises of opening BER soon show even on the relatively new terminal C: Even if you arrive with plenty time ahead of your flight, prepare to suddenly fall into fear of missing your flight when checking in baggage for cargo hold - the famous transport belts cause jams all the time, which lead to a wait time of about 30 minutes just for checking in my bag. Security checks are not much better and Tegel now relies on body scanners as well which, in my opinion, tend to slow down security checks even more than the traditional detectors. Expect to be queued up for 30-60 minutes for just the security checks in terminal C.

Airport is one of the worst I ever been to. Have to queue nearly an hour and a half just to clear security and immigration before departure. Bad experience!

50 Minutes till all passengers of this flight get there baggage. The baggage was on a car about 100 meter to the baggege belt on Stand 55 and not transfered to it. We miss our train cause of that and need to wait for another 2 hours till the next train goes. No information at all from the airport.

Crowded little airport which has outgrown usefulness. Difficult to negotiate when people crowd checkin and security queues. Once you pass security you're at your gate and there's little to do but wait. Single toilet each for Women / Men and just claustrophobic. Security people have little humanity and bark commands at passengers in German. Fortunately I speak it but others stood bewildered.

Horrible little airport but still better than Schonefeld. Best yet if you arrive with legacy carrier on small aircraft and arrive at A gates, worst if you end up on Easyjet/Ryan at C terminal.

Not the nicest looking airport but there are good facilities and the bus to Berlin is frequent, easy to use and quick, due to Tegel's excellent distance to Berlin...

Gates are super small and usually only 3 are interconected so you can not proceed further. If there are 2 320/321s and other people waiting for next flights, it gets super crowded with only 1 toilet for 500-600 people!

A pretty old airport but still efficient ! Tegel does not look like today's modern airports : small boarding gate aera, small corridors but very comfortable as you don't need to walk a lot !

Best airport in Berlin. Easy and fast to reach. Small. And some gates have security directly at the gate, so no queue with people that are not on your flight.

Very outdated terminal, no jetways. The security check was efficient though, and the bus to the city centre runs often enough (every 10 minutes) and is cheap (2.80?).

As Tegel has fired too much employees, they don't get their work done on time. This time, my gate changed every 5 minutes, which is confusing, as for different gates, you have to go through different security checks...

When you've got luggage leave it very slowly.
There are signs remaining about luggage but there is no information where to go in order to pick them up.
If you follow signs mentioned above you will leave airport and need to wait 2h to pick up luggage.

TXL is a true pain, everything about this airport is truly miserable, except WiFi and security. Pubic transport is only by slow and crowded buses, often standing in traffic. Restrooms are horrible, seating space is barely existent. Food is overpriced, selection is limited. I'd say avoid, but you can't, SXF is not any better.

I could not check in via Lufthansa app (timeout). Then I tried the check-in self-service terminal, also timeout. Then I tried the second self-service terminal, yayyy finally I received by boarding pass.

Unfortunately, I had to wait another 45 minutes in the security lane for my departure gate because Lufthansa put 3 flights in a 20min time window on 2 neighboring gates. Terrible (!) experience...

The worst experience I ever had on an airport. Waiting time at security control was more than 1 hour. Only 4 trails were open for more than 10 flights departing with 45 minutes. Worst organisation, worst execution and unfriendly staff. Try to avoid this airport!

Berlin Tegel is an absolute disgrace. Spend as little time as possible there. There are barely any places to eat or have coffee. Passport lines are horribly long. Airport signs are almost non-existed while the checkin layout is confusing.

Go with extremely low expectations.

Very old, crowded at times. Narrow halls and not nice at all. Berlin has bad luck with airports. Almost no waiting area. Very few sitting places. The only good thing is good public transportation. Very often bus to town, railway statins and metro.

A simply dreadful airport with simply dreadful customer service. One gets the feeling that they inherited the Interflug (East German airline) way of doing things here.

If at all possible, go by train or have no checked baggage.

If you have a connection at the airport and you have to change the aircraft, plan enough time because you need to go through security again...and if you need to change the terminal you need to go outside and walk there. I don't recommend this airport.

The Airport with the shortest ways, near to my home. I know no better for me. Simply excellent !
