Catania is a small local airport and the car hire companies are located a long walk from the terminal and they will just try and rip you off. Temrinal has almost zero facilites and its crap generally.

Overcrowded. When we disembarked, our flight didn't appear on the screens of baggage claim area, only after 15 min an employee realized the problem and shouted the belt where our bags would be. Many flights arriving at the same time, with the baggage claim totally full of people. Sensation of chaos.

Ho perso l'aereo perche il tabellone si era bloccato e non aggiornava piu la condizione del volo. Una volta resomi conto della situazione era gia troppo tardi.

Es muy extrano que no te pidan los billetes antes de hacer el registro del control, esto se traduce a que cuando llegas ahi, te piden los billetes antes de pasar por el detector y claro, la gente lo tiene en las chaquetas que estan en las bandejas, ocasionado despistes, retrasos y descontrol, un CAOS!!

Getting to the airport by Alibus is not reliable as you do not know the exact time when the bus passes the city and you just stay and wait half hour and more.
Passport check takes long time and you need to plan additional 20 min. if you depart outside Schengen area.

Very limited seating, poor choice of catering outlets airside (hint - eat in the terminal before checking in), limited choice and absurdly expensive. WiFi requires either Facebook or Google+ sign on - not likely! Check in only opened just over 2 hours before take off, not long enough.

Nice spacious airport very close to the city (5 km for 4 euros by bus). Lots of resto/cafes, good facilities.

Too small terminal with horrible queues, I stood over an hour to check in, while in other airport with the same pax number it took only 20 minutes. One of the worst airport I have ever been.

The airport was ok for what we needed... It consisted of a few shops like Sicilia's shop etc. The departure lounge was crowded and if you whern't on a local flight (To Italy) you have to go through another set of passport control. The customs where very organized if you have a family you can go down express line which saved a lot of time. Overall the airport was ok.

Terminal is really small, crowded and not very well equipped. Information point was closed (some reconstruction works in there), food shops cannot manage the demand and there is no place to charge your electronic devices. Connection to the city center runs often (costs 4 euro one way) and is easy to use it, but other connections can be pretty complicated. We bought ticket to Syracuse and needed to wait 4 hours, because 3 buses in a row came already full and we weren't allowed to board even though we already had the ticket (with time of that first bus). There is also no way to go anywhere by foot. City center (4,5 km) and beach (2 km) are connected only by highway and there are fences everywhere around.

There isn't enough space for the queue before the security check (on the Saturday evening that I was there) and it took over half an hour to get through by which time we had to get to our gate but, once past passport control, there was only one shop and almost no seating.
