Check-in was smooth but one thing, they didn't checked us in for the whole flight. They only checked us in for the international flight. And good news, secondary security check has been removed.

Check in took ages - don't know why they are so slow. Aircraft type was changed at last minute and the girl at the counter didn't tell us. Only found out when boarding the plane.

Worst airport emigration ever:
1: Cue to Scan your Bag at antrance
2: Cue to Scan your Bag before imigiration (1h !)
3: Cue to Check in (30min)
4: Cue to Emigration (10min)
5: Cue to Security (20min)
6. Cue to boarfing gate (15min)

You can not make it below 1h !
No soft drinks/water maschine after security !

Check-in was extremely long...it took 5 mins per person...boarding passes were hand-written: you tell your name ot one person (show your pass), another pick up your boarding pass from the pile of all boarding passes...dont know though whether this is airport or airline problem. Many security checks which are somehow look useless, as they do not seem to be strict. Terminal facilities are also limited. The shower in Sri Lanka would be useful one.

Great airport! i wish those stupid security forces aren't just roaming around cause you cant even take a photo of an airplane. thats the only fault anyways a good airport!

There airport is nice.There is lots of Duty Free Stores.There is Free Wi-Fi.The Connectivity to India is increasing.But the airport is quite far from the city.

Relatively a small airport. Checking to the gate is pretty fast. Depending the time you arrive / deapart, airport can be busy at times - usually during early morning. A few choices for dining but would have been great to have more cuisine options. M

Small airport. Security literally starts at the front door. Getting to the airport is very easy as there are allot of taxi's that will bring you there. Nevertheless is somewhat expensive to get to the airport as it's a little far away from Colombo (45m drive).

An average Airport with average services!! Customer service is good and they respect you like a Human!! Not like Kuwait intl airport!! In addition to that here people speak English well, you can communicate anyone with English. Only annoying thing is they will give you some forms to fill in the immigration to have their own statistics!!

One of the cleanest airport in Asia. Lot of security checking even before entrance. That's frustrating. But airport environment is excellent, calm and peaceful even in busy hours. Disadvantages are you don't really get wifi anywhere within the premises and there's no charging sockets of any kind. High speed Internet connected computer booths available widely.

Be prepared to be frisked multiple times before boarding the aircraft, such is the security here. Even to get into the terminal in the first place there's a security check. It's an alright terminal with reasonable facilities, though the border staff here could do with a lesson in cheer.

very bad security personnel.Didnt help even a female passenger to put her bags on x-ray machine from trolley.when asked to help replied that take porter service..thats the difference between shitlankan airport and other european country airports..

Departure is fine. Although the seating is not enough and the lounge is overpriced. Arrival is depressing. Immigration staff don't seem pleased to see you and duty free shops are like a fish market with vendors shouting to come and see their wares.

Beware that there are no banking facilities in the transit lounge any more. When departing make sure that you change your currency before going through customs.
