Brilliant airport especially when traveling from Ireland because you don't have to go through border control. The WIFI is great but at busy times baggage claim can be busy and you have to wait

In the summer, allow plenty of time to get through the security. It took us 45 mins. The food outlets are good upstairs, but there appeared to be confusion as to the departure gates.

First time for many years I've flown from EMA and have to say it has improved. Facilities are good for a regional airport and the presence of a smoking area off the departure lounge shows consideration (whatever your thoughts regarding the habit) for a group of travellers that are often ostracised and forgotten. A pleasant and quick experience both in and out.

Great little airport. Easy to drive to and even though it was busy still room to sit. Some nice places to get a bite to each and although lots of budget flights leave from here there has never seemed to be the noisy drunken people you often find waiting for flights.
If you have the choice to fly from here or Birmingham choose here.

Bad airport. You dont have seperate lines to put baggage on to the conveyor belt. Also the baggage bags came back very destroyred. Mine was missing a wheel. Also the baggage claim is very slow. 20 mins of waiting for the first bag to come. The food is ok and wifi is pretty bad.

At East Midlands airport, there is refurbishment happening at the moment so some areas aren't being used. The terminal facilities are amazing as well as the wifi which is free. There are plenty of shops and food areas which may be a bit on the expensive side. The baggage claim is very quick and there is a walk to get out of the airport.

East Midlands Airport is a nice airport, with lots to offer whilst waiting for your flight. Security is the only problem, there are huge ques during school time. From scanning my boarding pass, it took me 25 minuets to get through. Passport control is really quick, it only took me 7 mins from the aircraft to the outside of terminal. A great expirence!

Airport big, lots of restaurants, the service is not nice. I do not like this airport because it is poorly marked. It is not clean. Baggage check-in takes a long time and there are long queues. There are a lot of restaurants, places where you can sit but the airport is not clean. Shuttle service should be more welcoming and friendly. Airport building is ugly and is not new. It shows.

Having flown a lot through BHX and EMA, BHX is by far the smoother experience every time. EMA is essentially a shed with a few planes parked outside. However, without bags, EMA can be quicker. BHX is, in general, worth the drive for more convenient flights and a nicer experience overall, and it has lots to do while you wait for your flight.

It was my first time using East Midlands, even though I live only just over an hours journey time from the airport. Except for recent roadworks around Nottingham and the widening of the A453, the journey was good. We were only being dropped off at the airport, but you are charged ?1. Which was the only issue getting to the airport. At the time of visit, there were a lot of works going on outside and inside the airport, due to increasing numbers.

Check in was smooth just a simple bag drop. Security was easy and relatively smooth. Airside, facilities are good for an airport this size. As a plane fanatic, the views are very good and there is an excellent view from the cafe in the upstairs eating area. The wifi is not perfect and does vary in strength. As well as that, you are only provided with 1 hour free wifi, which for most passengers is more than enough. But, free unlimited wifi is always better! The overall design is not great, due to most new facilities being add-ons to the original, as the airport has coped with increasing visitor numbers.

I would say that the experience was very good for my first time and is conveniently located and well served in terms of destinations. There are areas for improvement though, but not too major.

Convenient airport but incredibly slow every time you arrive. 45 minutes to start bags coming through when there is only 1 arriving flight at 23:30 is unacceptable, and it never improves.

East Midlands is good looking airport, more using for cargo airplanes than for passengers so inside is not too much possibilities for longer staying or waiting there.

8 out of 10 for Check in. Told to queue then got to desk, and was told to wait as we were too early. Let two people check in behind us for another flight, then called is back to check in.
Security queue stretched from one side of the check in terminal t
