Lisbon Airport is a third world facility charging first world prices.
It is run down, dilapidated with almost no seating in the public areas. Immigration controls if you are from outside the European Union are a disgrace involving interminable waits in dreadful conditions.
There are very few stands with piers so 80% and more flights board by bus with often waits and journeys of in excess of 30 minuntes on buses with little or no air conditioning where people are packed aboard like sardines.
If you need to go to Lisbon you will have to tolerate this place, if it is a transit point, choose another airline and another transit point because Lisbon is as bad as it gets.

Possibility one of the worst airports I travel to regularly. Even though it is fairly new, it already feels dated. Inside terminal 1, even though wifi is offered, you can't use it. Data connection on your phone is mostly non-existent, and making voice calls can be a pain as well. As a business traveler it is the worst spot to wrap up some work.
The terminal buildings and gates are hot, even when it is cold outside. And the restroom facilities are appalling. Stalls are out of order for weeks. Dirt everywhere.
If I could, I would steer away from LIS.

A horrible airport. I'd never had any unexpected changes on my flight departing from there before, but I know that whatever little change or whatever little difficulty on your way may ruin your trip. It's so poorly organized! Why having check-in on different floors and in different parts of those floors? Why not having a normal information desk? The airport is not big but you can't find the heck in it. Besides they showed the departure time the way it was before the change, so the gate closed earlier, so I could not find where it was in that f... airport.

Not much service after 22:00. Almost no seating in terminal before security. Common old type metal detectors instead of 3d scanner. Bad climate control in gate areas. Gate areas easily crowded and small. Short distances everywhere. Fast to get from check-in to security to gate. Most gates are put on information 15 minutes before boarding. Bad transfer counters, too small with not enough people. Good lounges, especially tap / star alliance.

My experience with Terminal 2 was not so good. If you fly from Terminal 1 - you are lucky, if Terminal 2 - prepare for challenges: food points and duty free shops close at 10pm approximately (honestly, only one was operating to 11:30pm), WiFi is slow, security check is strange.

TAP Lounge very basic, poor selection and incredibly smelly, the restrooms in the lounge but also the chill/sleep area smells. Not sure if its the air con or something else, but place quite filthy and not properly cleaned.

Announcements hard to understand because of bad accustic. Told very late which gate the flight goes from and then changed it again without communicating good.

The terminal 2 I was waiting my flight for, has really nothing to be proud of. There?s a McDonalds, which is pretty much the only place you can get some food and trust me, you need patience to order there. WiFi not working, toilets stink.

Old and outdated building.
Very low ceilings giving it a very claustrophobic feel.
Terminal 2:
I've been in better tool sheds. It shouldn't be called an airport terminal but a shed instead.

Do not fly with low-cost airlines from Lisbon, or you will be flying from a totally terrible Terminal 2. That terminal is a pure joke with awful services, insufficient space, no lounge, animal-like boarding, etc.

It was alright. I liked the signs font (LoL), easy to get to baggage claim and no passport check as from EU. Arriving area was a bit dark, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, 4/5

It was a really long way from the aircraft via buses to the terminal, and then from the entrance to the baggage reclaim, but this is not a small airport so it's no wonder.

Lisbon Airport Terminal 2 is especially designed for low-cost airlines and so it is extremely efficiency oriented, looks more like a hangar than a real airport building. Can be really crowded during rush hours.

Missed my flight due to poor security queue management. One lane was operating at half capacity, so took 40 minutes instead of the stated '10-20 min'. But staff did not inform passengers or divert them to other queues

I was flying from Terminal 2 (most of low-cost are flying from here). This is a one floor building with very poor interior. The duty-free is located after the secuirity check but before passport check. It was the first time I saw such a huge line to passport control. Almost at the same time had to departure 3 flights what require passport check and there was only one person checking documents (of 500-600 passengers). All the flights were delayed because of that (that what we got to know only afterwards, with no announsment). People were under stress and the crowd was crazy.

Is a small airport lounge, with very few facilities.
The customs is great if you are from the EU, but be aware to expect the longest and slowest queue ever. Very few open booth to check for passangers.
THe staff on the baggage claim are obnoxeous and do not give any information, beside the default look up at the screen

It is really amazing that such a big airport in the capital city of Portugal can be so badly organized. You have to wait for your luggage 30 minutes, sometimes even more than 1 hour. They don't know how many busses should arrive to the plane to take the pax and don't know that there is a need to give mobile steps to the rear door. One of the worst airports I have already visited.

The airport is crowded and most of the time you have to go to the plane by bus. WiFi doesn't work. There are many options for eating and shopping. The immigration line is huge and bags take long to get to the belt.

By far this is the most disorganized and chaotic airport I've been in. They checked my passport no less than 5 different times, the line to board the plane was outrageous. Overall it was one of the worst airports I've been in.

Alem de organizado, o aeroporto de Lisboa conta com uma otima sinalizacao aos passageiros, bem como faceis deslocamentos entre os terminais oferecidos pelo proprio aeroporto. Assim, nao ha a preocupacao por parte do passageiro caso erre o terminal que deve embarcar.

Flew out from T2, which I have only done one or two times before, even though I'm a regular LIS user. LIS has struggled for years with lack of space, leading to too many airplanes, too many buses and too few fingers. However, the airport itself and T1 are nice and modern. T2 though is simply not adequate for air travel - it's a construction site, with few shops and way too little seating space. There are only about 10 or so gates but they all lead to the same outside corridor where people are led on their own up until a door with a sign wait for the assistant to board. When the airplane is late, everyone has to wait outside in the cold, exposed to extremely high engine noise...

Security queue was very long (30-40 minutes though didn't move at all for 15) Airport is a mix match of buildings with a very random layout. Some sort of obsession with corridors and queues.

We were in Lisbon as a stopover on our way to the Azores. There weren't many good-looking eateries and unfortunately I feel like my family and I stumbled across one that wasn't good at all. Personally I wouldn't eat at Lisbon Portela on my stopover again.

The main terminal seems to be too small for morning and midday peaks. Long check-in and security queues are the norm. Electricity plugs in the restaurant area don't work (really, why should they?) at all, known phenomenon, airport employees even warn people hastily seeking power. Restrooms are in poor shape, smell and dirty. Wifi signal poor, connecting to the network is either a pain (3rd attempt on Win laptop) or doesn't work at all (Android phone). Nice building and facilities in principle, but operations... that's obviously not their strengths.

Terminal 2 has very tiny and crowded gates with few sitting places. After boarding began (as our plane just touched down on the runway) we were standing in a hallway for half an hour until the bus came and another 25 minutes in the bus by the plane until it was cleaned and fueled after the inbound pax deplaned.

Customs refused to make a mark in the checks for tax refunds if a boarding pass indicating the direction outside the EU. The justification was the 1 hour transfer in Amsterdam, for which I barely had time for a flight, not to mention the visit of Customs. ? year ago in Porto this was not a problem, in spite of the transfer in an Frankfurt

Gatewechsel, 2. Sicherheitskontrolle am Abfluggate. Alle Passagiere stehen bis zu 1 Std. Schlange um eine erneute Pass- und Sicherheitskontrolle zu durchlaufen obwohl wir den Sicherheitsbereich nicht verlassen hatten?

For T2: The signs where to go are small to look at or are hidden behind the wall so I nearly went to mens toilet. The WiFi is fast enough but you need to register and sign in order to get access and I give 1 star. Security staff don't speak english language just basic words.

This airport is really disorganised, and it takes a long time to get one point to another. The terminals are connected with small buses. These buses are overcrowded, and you have to wait 20 minutes for them.
There aren't enough places on the terminal, and there is one lavoratory for more than a thousand people. If you choose a low-cost airline, you have to go to the overcrowded, old, small terminal.
