WOW! EasyJet's ground staff where INCREDIBLY helpeful: we were late for check in and they helped us a lot. Getting to the airport is great. Beware of the distances: there's a lot to walk around.

One of the best airports in the world for facilities and the most efficient security channels compared to all others.

Lack of agents at immigrations, very long queue for EU passengers with problems with the automatic machines.

Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers have their own checkin desks, access to premium security check and access to the lounge. Check in was a breeze and I spent the time until my flight in the lounge watching planes coming and going.

Everything at the terminal went smoothly apart from the security check when the guy wanted to pass my Fire back though the X-ray as I had left it in my camera bag misgendered me,by calling me Sir when I live and pass as a female.

Airport Easy to get to by road, rail or coach. plenty of facilities in terminals, however let down by UK border queues and automated passport gates that don't always like my passport.

Nothing bad about this airport, takes relatively long to get through security, but this is because it?s a large airport. When returning avoid using the automated passport readers, has never worked for me. And the baggage claim is big but when flights come in all baggage is put on just 3 belts so this is very busy also.

There is a very small time gap between announcing the boarding gate and the boarding closing.
(Under 10 minutes when flying to Guernsey).
When travelling with a baby pram, it is impossible to get to the airplane with the pram, through the steps. The pram should be handed over to the crew before going down through the stairs.

Easy no hard work check in fast and reliable and the security was the fastest I've ever been through with the newest technology so you don't have to take all your appliances out was through three mins tops...

Post knee replacement service was great in getting from aircraft through immigration, baggage claim and customs with the help of the golf cart driver was first rate. I needed a coach from LGW TO LHR so the only area I spent any time was the coach station which had meager offerings at best. I don't believe this reflects on the services of the airport.

Very convenient and easy overall experience, the only caveat being security. Quite a slow process, but that would be my only complaint.

The valet parking can be confusing at times but worked very well. Gatwick airport security is one of the best I've ever used, fast and well constructed. Sat in the lounge which was very nice and well staffed, but from the look of things lots of restaurants and stores, including a weatherspoons and WHSmiths, which I picked up a sandwich drink and magazine in! A great all round experience as always at LGW.

Premium security is absolutely useless and not worhtwhile, better off going through the normal channel. Good plane spotting if you walk down to the lower numbered gates looking out of the windows over the runway.

South terminal is way better than north, quite busy and WiFi doesn't work upstairs. Fastest security I've ever had without the express lane (literally 2 mins joining a queue at 1300 to bags repacked and gone by 1302)

One person to cover the security check for three full flights leaving from gate 55. 60 people still in the queue after the gate closed.

North Terminal used to be for passengers, now it?s a terminal in a building site. Huge areas boarded off with no access from one side of the food terrace to the other by building site right in the middle.

The South terminal is very old and cramped of people. There are no fast foods after security, meaning that it is only possible to choose between full service restaurants and a sandwich. The WiFi was not working properly, it took me several attempts to connect. On the positive side, the airport is easy to access and offers many routes.

Travel through the North Terminal quite a lot. Getting more run down every time I see it. Worn out threadbare carpets, worn out and ripped chairs, and a building site in the departure lounge.

Always slow and tiny baggagae area... Update it to global standards please!!
Immigration always fast if UK passport holder through auto gates.
M25 is always busy getting to Gatwick, give yourselves plenty of time! Coming from train via London is usually okay can get rammed in rush hours though.

The south terminal (home of British Airways at LGW) is great lots of restaurant choices. Immigration is incredibly slow for UK residents of Trans-Atlantic flights as they all land at the same time so there is loads of passangers. Leave lots of time for connecting flights as you have to re-check in and redo security.

Gatwick can be good or mediocre, depending on the time of day, which gate you have etc. If you travel in economy, you cay pay for Premium immigration, which is cheap and so worth it to skip the endless lines.

Gatwick is a really nice, friendly and helpful airport, with members of staff to help you during check-in/Bag drop.
I would really recommend flying out of Gatwick if you are by yourself or with a family.

Shopping and restaurant facilities excellent. Large airport - leave time to find gate. Once at gate there was a wait to gain access to seating area and incorrect info displayed on gate screen but this could have been due to late arriving aircraft. Clean. Free wifi.

Gatwick airport seems to want to automate everything, it is one of the worst airports in the world to travel through I pay to go through passport control just so I have human contact with a person not feel like I am being herded through the airport with very little respect for being a customer of the airport

Was in transit through LGW for the first time. Just be reminded that if you are transiting from South to North terminal, if you get there first thing in the morning expect a wait before any airline staff will show up. First airline staff didnt show up till 7AM. Qatar Airways doesnt show till 8AM with Swissport. WiFi is still operated by Boingo and only gives you 90 minutes complimentary access but you can refresh it and use it all the way closer to 4 hours. Retail services are unique including a lingerie and adult toy shop which was kind of surprising. Terminal is undergoing construction at the moment so not everything is there.

London's second best airport but that dosen't mean its good. Getting to it is a hassle even if it does have train service. This takes forever to get to London and the airport itself might require you take a train between the terminals. The terminals themselves are quite outdated and always seem to be overcrowded, and the services that are there, while not bad just get swamped with people going on cheap package holidays...

Good lounge, decent airport - can get a bit crowded but the lounges are generally better than those at London Heathrow.
