Awfully designed, cramped and unfit to handle the amount of passengers that it does, with large check-in queues. Better off going to Stansted that offers almost the same flights but with a better designed terminal.

Getting to the airport by train and bus is relatively long and pricy. Terminal building is practical but a bit shabby, lines can be long during rush hours.

Overall good airport as a home of low cost airlines. But after a priority boarding they locked us in a small staircase for 10-15 minutes. No air to breathe, it was winter so everybody wearing jackets sweating from heat. My wife was feeling a little faint. It really ruined my Luton experience. Until this moment everything was perfectly fine.

Just an all round awful Airport... avoid like the plague... an utter embarrassment to the U.K. The Airport itself looks old and decrepit, it looks like someone made an Airport out of their back garden. Problems start when you arrive... nightmare to drop anyone off and there?s no where to pick up... to walk out of it is also near impossible without breaking a few rules and climbing over fences (not what you want to be doing at an airport). Check in queues long, the food options aren?t bad as you can actually get some cheap eats and a snack... it seems there is about 12 seats for the entire airport and you have to walk miles only to stand around waiting for ages... the quality of airlines using it is also famously bad (Ryanair, EasyJet etc...). Coming back it makes me laugh that this is peoples introduction to Britain... it?s insane this place hasn?t been shut down... customs officers are unfriendly even for border customs people and the place looks like a half under construction warehouse, where leaving is going out from a corridor that feels like you?ve walked into a shops back room... would never use unless I am forced too. Not worth any money you save going here as with public transport you are MILES away from London anyway...

This airport mainly holds budget airlines, so this airport obviously compromises on luxuries. Immigration is the worst part of this airport. It took so long to immigrate into the UK unfortunately. Overall this airport is ok-ish for people who are fine with compromises on luxury

Awful Airport, Avoid unless absolutely necessary.
Filthy dirty facilities, queues everywhere, massive lack of seating. Even the long stay car part was atrocious with potholes and temporary fencing everywhere.
Terrible Airport.

Welcome back to the UK (World's?) worst airport. Tatty, stark white corridors, massive queue for passports, unfriendly staff. Luton has it all.

Dreadful airport. Voted worst in UK and you can see why. Huge revamp has resulted in glitzy new shopping mall - and same old crappy, cramped lounge (aka cattle shed) for the passengers.

Luton recently voted worst airport in UK and it is painfully obvious why. They've spent a fortune on a plush new Duty Free arcade but the seating area (where people spend most of their time) has not changed. It is small, cramped and massively overcrowded. A truly horrid experience.

During current expansion, the airport is a building site, bit in and out of the terminal.
Security queues are long and chaotic - not a pleasant experience (and I was flying at noon, not 7am!)

There should be a 0 star option, horrible airport! Staff rude in the baggage check-in desks. The terminal is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. It was worse on the way back, well done to Wizzair for getting us to the airport 20 minutes early and for the professional crew. Sadly this experience was spoilt by waiting for over an hour at the boarder in an unorganized que!

Everything very efficient here, short tracks and food is quite affordable. Though the arrival hall is extremly dirty but won't need to hang around there for long.

Blimmey, what a surprise it was landing here. I just hope the work on the aiport will improve it a lot because it can't get much worse.
Chaotic, landing at 22h40 the services were clsing and trying to get to London by public transport was an adventure in itself. Can only be done by bus (or taxi) and we had 3 planes arrived with 1 bus to London...

When you are going to Luton make sure you get a train ticket to Luton Airport and not Luton Airport Parkway. You have to pay for a bus (with cash) at Luton Airpot Parkway. So if you buy a train ticket to Luton Airport the bus fare is included and it's easier once you get there

Luton is incredibly busy and there is barely place to sit or wifi to speak of. Landside most things are ok, but once you get through security there are just too many people. Probably worse than Charleroi...

20-minute train ride from central London to Luton Airport Parkway station, which is 4 minutes away from the airport by car (cabs and shuttle available). The airport area was in construction, so everything was a bit messy.
The security queue was not very efficient, taking me 10 minutes to get past it.
The airport itself is more a regional airport rather than an international airport. The lounge is non-existing (still under construction) and the gate lounge had no chairs! Moreover, the boarding started but the passengers were kept in a 20 sq. metre space, again with no chairs. I asked an airport staffer about the situation, to which she replied: I know, I hate this airport too.
After they opened the doors so we could walk to the plane stairs, I wanted to stay inside for a couple more minutes because it was pouring rain and the line was huge outside, but I wasn't allowed: I can't wait for you, I have paperwork to deal with, another staffer told me.
All in all, terrible experience.

Self-bag drop with Easyjet was seamless, security took a while with only 2 lanes open at mid-day. Departures area was busy but walking thru this area to the gates area, found a very quiet spot at Gate 28, where no flights were departing from, offering fantastic views of parking areas and the runway, to waste time until gate was shown for my flight.

Getting to the airport is okay. You take the train from London to Luton Airport Parkway and then take the shuttle bus to the actual airport. Total travel time is about 35 - 40 minutes. WiFi is not really worth it. Check-In was a desaster, missed our flight due to long queues and had to re-book.

Well Luton, has certanily needs a lot of improvement but I think they're on the right track with all the innovations they are doing at the moment.
I'm just hoping that it could live up to the standards many travelers like me are expecting when it comes to the whole experience of a journey.

A mid-afternoon flight, bag drop was nice and effortless, security quick, however a lot of construction work is happening in the main departures area. I would recomend taking a walk down towards Gates 23-26, very quiet and open down there to sit and watch movements. All in all a nice Airport to fly from.

Luton airport is being redeveloped until 2017 /18 and there is total chaos in and out of the buildings. A long walk from the expensive drop off point with no cover. Every area in the building is affected - few areas to sit down and restricted eating facilities, but they made sure duty free was in 'rebuilt' first!

Luton is a good airport, but once you compare it with the likes of Heathrow or Gatwick then it drops right down the list. Nevertheless it is a simple small airport, and nothing complicated too stress out your travels

Now with all the refurbishment work done at Luton Airport, the arrivals area is worse then ever.
Luton was never my favorite, but on my latest arrival I promised myself not to fly to or from here anymore.

Kontrola bezpieczenstwa nieczepialska.

Airport currently undergoing major renovation so the check-in area is not in a very good state, most shops are closed and empty, however once in the departure lounge everything is fine. Plenty of food outlets and some free wi-fi.
Arrivals generally good, pretty fast moving queue for passports and very swift baggage claim. Bit of a trek to the buses at the moment on an uneven surface, so not recommended for people with mobility issues.

Good trip Airport is nice. Facilities are good Not enough seats at the airport to sit, while waiting, unless you sit at some food place. There is plenty of shops in my opinion, so you can make any last-minute shopping for any neccesary items or for some little gifts or souvenirs.

Arrived in plenty of time for my flight, my FIRST flight, i might add.
Managed to book in okay, queues weren't too bad, only had to wait about 20 minutes to book in.
Informed a few staff it was my first flight and wasn't sure what to do or where to go, they were quite helpful.
Got through security okay, they were very helpful.
Found departure lounge eventually, didn't have to wait for too long, went downstairs to boarding gate. Gate locked, although we only had to wait a few minutes on a stairwell before we were allowed to board.
Mentioned again to stewardess that i was a first time flyer and i may be a bit nervous, i got a blank look, totally unhelpful.
Flight was really enjoyable, so i managed to cope all by myself with no problems.

Overcrowded, not enough seating space. If there were any seats, they were full and very congested seating area next to Pret-a-Manger. Liked the pictures on the walls in the walkways though. Plugs to charge phones in the walkway are useless, as the phone can be stolen if one is not careful. Also, benches in the walkways are opposite the charging points, so a bit useless.

Luton is a horrible airport, especially if you arrive past 23.00. Tranfers means to London are extremely limited and sparse, and the whole airport is shutdown - no food. WiFi is free for only 30 min, and the waiting time for luggage can reach 50 minutes.
