Terminal 3 at Manchester is in serious need of updating, due to the amount of tourists and flights the terminal is constantly crowded and you?ll end up sitting on windows as it?s absolutely packed, but the service of the staff is excellent.

Terrible security unlike anything I've ever seen at a UK airport: they made me go straight through the body scanner rather than through the general metal detector, and were really rude when I asked why. I never got an answer.

Small, cramped, noisy, claustrophobic and poor ventilation with stench of sweat and fried food. I will avoid this airport at all costs - horrible experience and it was not at a crowded time!
Really is this the best that can be done?

Horrible airport. 100 people in the security waiting for their items inspection. I was there for 1 hour in the security to check my jacket!!!

Still the worst airport in the world, security takes an age and the airside resembles a cross between a bus terminal and a shopping centre.
Dep time of 1110, actual time around 1330, spent over two hours on the plane at the gate in Manchester. Not much information from the flight deck, apparently a leak was discovered and repaired however the engineer didn't bring paperwork, not KLM's fault (neither was the bad weather at Schiphol) however why did the engineer not bring the paperwork OR why couldn't someone else bring over the paperwork saving time. This should be reviewed for learning points. Luckily on this occasion I wasn't making a connection but most of those on board missed theirs.

Quite a long walk to immigration, but no queues so through quiclky then had a 15-20 minute wait for our bags

Manchester is still the worst airport in the history of Man. If they could charge for the air you breathe they would. Security takes and eternity and uses tech from the dark ages (AMS scan everything inside your bag in one go AND you can take bottles of liquids through, they just pop the bottles in a small separate scanner), stay away from the wi-fi as it's a data mining opportunity of the worst kind which spams you with adverts.

A very good airport serving the northern region of England, with lots of international flights around the world. Great duty free area managed by Biza with very good deals. They also provide the 'collect on return' services for European travels.

Very Long queues on this occasion for Passport control. Security were not very nice and caused me to lose charger for sat nav when i had to take every single item out of back as they had spotted a small jar of Tiger balm in bottom of bag which i forgot to put into clear plastic bag. When i tried to claim the item back on my return They trie to charge me more than the item was worth to get it back. Nothing But theft.

Awful place, arriving at the passengers to/from railway station still have to navigate the waiting time at the three huge lifts.
Security is a joke, takes far too long compared to other places on the globe.
Flights always depart late because Menzies/Swissport staff don't care. At the gate three of them were sat around eating crisps.

MAN gets an extra star today as I didn't have to wait long at the carousel, only a couple of mins after getting there and bags were through quick no-one waiting for theirs to appear.
Still not a patch on KIX though.

A hellish shopping centre masquerading as an airport. Claustrophobic, poorly laid out, with as much floor space devoted to shops as possible. Limited signage makes moving around more challenging.

A fast-growing airport that is in need of modernisation - which it is doing. Security make you take off and separate everything and Terminal 1 is the most cramped airport terminal I have ever been in. Despite this there are fantastic shopping facilities and relatively quick ways of getting to your gate.

Security was actually OK this time, they didn't send us downstairs. T1 is just getting very overcrowded during the morning wave now though, especially at the EasyJet Check-In Desks and in the main Departure Lounge. Hopefully things will get better again when the next phase of T2 opens.

Being a local hub Manchester needs dragging into the 21st century rather than being used as a cash cow by the local authorities. Manchester airport is an embarrassment considering the amount of sporting culture in the North West of England.

I fly a lot but Manchester airport was terrible!!! Very badly marked illegible and poorly constructed.Everything was very badly controlled by luggage ... The woman was very malicious and she screamed after she opened my vanity case without telling me about it and threw away all things like toothbrush, tampons, eye shadows (dry items, because others were apart inserted in a plastic bag) Nobody behaved like that at any airport...terrible experience!!!!! I do not recommend it to anyone!!! :(

Consistently the worst airport I fly from and I've been flying since 1981.
You pay to drop off, to weigh a bag, ?2 non returnable for a trolley, no drinks fountains and if they could charge for oxygen they would.

Waiting forever for bags from a Dash-8, you'd think we were on an A380, in the time it takes the bags to arrive at KIX I'm off the plane through immigration, bag picked up, through customs, bus ticket bought and on the blower to the wife telling her I'll be home soon.

Worst airport I?ve ever experienced. Did not find one single thing working in an organised or clever way. Security check was most likely the worst part, operating by rules nobody else are working according to. Even with my Fast Track access it took forever!!
Gate assignment coming late, and huge lack of information in general...

Overcrowded, understaffed and over priced. You need a mortgage for 2 breakfasts.
Not enough space to swing a cat but if you?ve endured security the cat would have died of starvation anyway.

Security was slow. Member of staff said a lot of the bags going through the scanner so was slower than usual. Member of security asked if i had any chargers or anything I mentioned I had my phone charger and a mug in my bag which she said is fine to keep in my bag while it goes through. I go through the scanner after and once my bag appears I find the small part of my bag where my charger was kept was open when it wasn't open before. Surely if she wanted to have a quick look before the bag was put through the scanner she could just call me back and witness her search it.

At immigration my face was not being recognised by the systems that Manchester have in place, however, the staff were very patient while i tried to get this to work and after the staff made me feel very comfortable and laughing about this with me. The best ever immigration staff i have encountered

Manchester airport is really very poor now, especially with the added insult of drop off and pick up charges. It's main raison d'etre seems to be the duty free shopping mall, the onoly part of the airport where much attention seems to have been paid. Can't wait for the new terminal to be opened. Have to say it was a breeze getting through security on this tuesday afternoon though. Very few other passengers

Seriously, what 20 years ago was the pride of the local community (a community-owned airport) is not just chaos. Long long waits for security. Consistent.y And even when it doesn't look crowded, they have possibly the most inefficient security of any airport I have ever visited. All business processes are designed to help the airport and their shareholders. Nothing is really designed for passengers. From luggage trolleys to the bus for car rental. Just painful.

We travel down to Manchester from the Lake District, it's easy to get to, parking, if pre-booked, is very reasonable, we also book the 1903 lounge which includes fast track through security. Our flight this time was from Terminal 3.

Manchester feels like a very tired airport nowadays. Only the duty free sales area looks as if much care has been taken. Add to this the ridiculous drop off and pick up charges for an overall underwhelming experience

Departed from terminal 1 seemed chaotic and lack of signage Lowe ceilings makes it feel very dull not enough seating at gate or duty free on the plus side all airport staff very Friendly and helpful

Terminal 1 is trash. Ugly, old and not built for the amount of passengers. Security took an hour. Lounges are packed and unpleasant.
