It has improved after its major renovation. Awaiting for more services and shops to be offered to travelling passengers as that is a factor why passengers do not want to go to the airport early.

Perth T1 is continually developing, largely for the better, and has improved facilities generally, but especially for children in departures.

PERTH is just bloody hopeless. Even after the major financial improvements it is still a third world airport with long waiting times, background scatter machines they force you through in security (although they are by now proven inefficient) and extremely unfriendly border staff. I hate this airport and feel ashamed it is in my city !!

Virgin's new Terminal 1 at Perth Airport is simply amazing, plenty of shops/food and space for everything and everyone.

Pretty new airport facility. Not crowded at all. Speedy immigration no queue at all. Only queue is at the customs area.

Wow Terminal 2 is the best terminal ever. I was on the only flight leaving at that time. No queue through security, plenty of seating, Coffee, shop, Subway and bar. Easy boarding and friendly staff.

New T1 Virgin terminal is fantastic. New, purpose built facilities, self-service check in and bag drop. Lounge is new and huge.

Arrived at 15:05, Long Que at immigration, took 50 minutes to clear, only 2 counter where open, 5 staff stood in the background talking. I cant prove it, as using a camera or phone is not permitted. then another 40 minutes to clear Customs. Pick up area is limited, no public transport worth mentioning, This is not even close to be called an International Airport. As a local I'm ashamed of what tourists have to put up with.

Everything, from the so-called new terminal buildings to the same old grumpy immigration and custom staff are negative about this third world country airport. Be serious and build it at a decent place at the seashore like any decent city in 2015. Waiting times longer than in Jakarta. We should be ashamed of our country that this is the first contact with our country. A stain on the beautiful city.

I am a student going to Perth for exchange and it was a nice airport same as HKG But the immigration was quite slow I have to wait for about 1 hour for going into australia.I love it.I also bought some toys for myself in there the things in there is quite cheap.

I arrived and departed from the international terminal 2 which appeared very quiet. Arrival was easy getting though security, plenty of officers manned at the desks, however once you leave the area you have to walk through duty free which I find strange on arrivals. The same speed and efficiency for quarantine, except in australia all pax from international flights need to have their baggage sniffed by a dog and food items declared.
The only problem with the international terminal is that it is not served by public trasnport (bus) and all passengers need to be transferred via bus to the domestic terminal 15 minutes away. I believe the airport authorities are going to link the 2 terminals together. Overall it is not a very easy terminal for arriving or departing passengers, however the straff are very efficient.
On departing perth, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a much easier experience. Plenty of shops, very clean, free wifi and easy walking distance between gates and lots of seating.
Overal perth airport would be a much better airport if they could connect the 2 terminals together without the need to travel 15 minutes on a bus around the runway and if the international terminal was served by public transport.

Perth is a city that is growing rapidly and their airport is too. Although right now it is a bit run down there are workers on it 24/7. The viewing deck in the airports international terminal was great and the airport was extremely clean. Thumbs up Perth Airport

DOME is a nice place to wait for the flight

money exchanger take commission which is too expensive

make sure exchange your money in the city before going to the airport

there's no public transport to the airport

you can use Connect bus operated by the airport(I guess)

Perth International Airport!!! what a joke, 90 minutes to get through immigration, another 80 minutes to clear customs. No taxi to take 2 adults and luggage. This has been going on since 1979, the airport is getting bigger and constantly getting upgrades, but nothing ever gets better. Just been in Europe for 4 weeks and never had more then 40 minutes to get out of an airport. The only thing that has improved is the excuses they make. We just had 2 aircraft landing and another aircraft 20 minutes later !!! don't they look at timetables? Planes landing seems to be a surprise to immigration and customs.
Don't even think about coming to Perth in the winter, if visibility is degraded you cant land, because they don't have the equipment for low visibility landing, It deserves a minus rating!!

This is a third world airport in a first world country. Extensive rebuilding and reshaping is going on, but already the shape it is taking shows you that nothing good can come out of this. This airport is in the middle of a sprawling city. i wonder how the suburbs around the airport put up with it. Kai tak Airport in Hong Kong comes to mind.......

My first flight to Perth, was impressed by it, Fremantle is nice, Perth was nice, I went for a concert and stayed opposite Perth Arena. It is much better than sad $ydney. I don't think there is a place in the known universe worse than $ydney.

Not a wide variety of food outlets or store choice. Terminal needs the current expansion as it is rather tight on space. Other than this, quick processing both outbound and inbound immigration and security. Stair-well boarding design is the most awful part in my opinion.
