O pior aeroporto pelo qual ja passei no Brasil. Ao chegar no aeroporto, vindo de um voo de Campinas-SP, onde fiz conexao para um voo para JFK, me deparei com longas caminhadas por dentro do terminal de passageiros, o wifi nao funcionava, estava muito quente o ar-condicionado nao dava conta e havia muita falta de informacao de para onde seguir. Depois de andar 15 min em uma direcao, tive que voltar e andar mais uns 10min ate chegar no controle de passaporte. No meu retorno do JFK, a mesma coisa aconteceu. Pior foi ao entrar na ponte de embarque sequer o ar-condicionado desta estava ligado (ou quem sabe sem funcionar). Me pergunto. E para esse pessimo servico que pago taxa de embarque?

A very large airport, but, with a looooooong walk to the gates.
Very nice food services, a regular wifi connection. The check-in services are so nice. The terminal facilites are not so good, they have only one access to the gates and, we need to walk a lot from this access to the gates. It would be better if they open a new access.

Yes, there's a good airport here, but, it's a very busy and large airport. We need to walk more than 20 minutes to get to the gate. But, it's a beautiful airport, with very good facilities.

Awful experience, felt like a guinea pig around a maze. After security inspection the only way to go is downstairs, then through a huge duty free like shop. And then upstairs, arriving just behind the x-ray inspection. Almost 5 minutes of walking for nothing.

Check in was pretty organized.
AF flight was delayed 1 hour and 30 minutes.Ticketing desk staff was rude by the time I told her I was going to miss my connection flight with a separate ticket.

Facil distribucion de puestos de despachos, en la sala de preembarque uno disfruta de buenos locales de compra pero hay momentos es que esta se divide, para facilitar el transito de pasajeros, mediante puertas corredizas y puede no disfrutar de todas. El wifi es libre y con buena calidad.

If you really need to come to Zikaland, come through Sao Paulo - GRU. It is by far the less awful airport....

It evolved a bit since it was privatizated last year, with new shops and toilets. Immigration, bagage claim and customs were really fast, guess it is because my flight was the only arriving on the International area of T2. There was, indeed, a long queue for taxis, an old problem of this airport.

It was exteremely hot after leaving the plane, problems in the air conditioning are often. Long line for passport control (even for brazilians) and an even longer line for Customs. Bagage claim was not so bad as it used to be. Toilets not clean as usual and lots of taxi drivers shouting trying to call your attention when leaving for arrivals area.

I was arriving with KLM and connecting to a domestic flight with GOL. Considering football championship happened in 2014 and Olympics are scheduled for 2016, the arrival facilities in GIG were pretty terrible. First, the arriving passengers have to queue in a tiny corridor for immigration. It's a very tiny and hot corridor. Then you pick up your bag and walk through what literally looks and smells like a pig sty. The building is obviously very old and not well taken care of. Then passengers queue again for customs in similar conditions. Queueing anywhere is a hassle, but at GIG was really bad.

Terminal 2 do Galeao estava muito quente, quase nao havia facilidades para os passageiros, e tbm os fingers estavam bem quentes devido a alta temperatura no dia. Economia de lampadas porem terminal mais quente devido a quantidade excessiva de vidros no telhado

Far from the city, it can take more than two hours to arrive. Check-in wasn't complicated, although it takes some time. There is some food and services options in the common area, but in the boarding area it is limited to one bar and a couple of soda machines. Toilets are not always clean.

Fast immigration and customs. Not too much services in both Terminal 1 and 2. The airport is quite far from the city center so the best option is taking a cab. Be careful with illegal taxis, use the booths to pay in advanced and get your tickets. The cheapest is Aerocoop. There are also special buses for Downtown, South Zone and Barra da Tijuca. Nowadays there is also the BRT system heading to West and North Zone, connecting the Airport with the subway and the suburban railway.

Concrete hell, quite small for main intl. airport for city of that size and importance. Staff doesn't speak English. Check-in broke down, KLM counter wasn't any helpful, but big thanks for the nice and helpful man at the check-in, he made my day.

Speaking since my visit in 2011... Awful airport. Nothing to do, very uncomfortable, hard seats. Very, very little food choice. Just a small vendor and a couple of street food like stalls. The lounges are absolutely crammed, not pleasant. Would spend as little time as possible in there next time. Too and from airport in a taxi is the easiest option.

Those who are familiar with CDG airport in Paris will feel at GIG like at home. Aged concrete structure welcomes with gray used old look. Chaos everywhere like at CDG, one of the most expensive Tax free Ive ever seen, very limited offer of food and shopping.

Awful airport. Terminal 2 is slightly better than Terminal 1 so fly out of Terminal 2 whenever possible. Hardly any food beyond security so plan accordingly. On the other hand, security is very quick and efficient. For internal flights (domestic) there's no need to take out laptops or liquids.

This is one of the worst airports I have ever been to. After you have passed the customs, you end up waiting more than an hour to get your luggage. The customs are just average and the queue isn't too long, but when a 747 arrives it becomes useless how many people that comes with only 4 active stands...
Not to mention, WiFi is the only thing this airport can serve good, after trying to connect to 10 different WiFi's to figure out which one to use, it works great!
Lounge is HORRIBLE!

To get to the airport you have only two alternatives: a taxi or a friend's car. And beware the taxis, they are known to overtax the tourists not familiar with the city. The food is poor and very expensive. Parking lot at terminal 1 is terrible, very expensive and with few espaces. The lounges are very simple and the flight information poor.

The International Airport of Rio de Janeiro is old and at the time of the trip was being remodeled. The airport is far from the city and the trip I did in Bus Not a good idea since tive to wait 1 hour and arrived very early at the airport.

Shops? Not many...
Food? Well... Sort of available but very expensive...
WiFi? Outside you have to pay or be near security checks to get free WiFi... For which you also have to register with Passport-Number and other personal data...
And nearly nobody is able to speak English... Or any other language than Portuguese...

Good airport, has everything to go right, just missing infrastructure, need much to be privatized, has many spottings's point. Need to improve a lot, some security guards do not recognize the hobby to be spotter planes.

Aeroporto confuso, placas mal localizadas, balcao de informacoes nao esta tao preparado quanto o de GRU. Dou 3 estrelas principalmente pelos conectores e os carrinhos entre os terminais.

Unfriendly staff. Pricing not ok. Wanted to buy a keychain for USD 6,5. When I wanted to pay, the price increased to 8.5 USD. Wanted to pay in BRL, then the price was 25. When I check the exchange rate, it should be around 16 BRL. Such a scam.
