Don Mueang is old, but convenient for passengers. It's really low cost airport. Baggage claim and registration is fast, free WIFI, chargers for mobile, wheelchair provided with helping man! (thanks a lot for AirAsia staff). Great thing is FREE A1 Shuttle Bus to Suvarnabhumi airport(if you have flight from).

The airport offers a very nice observation deck which is also great for spotters. Only about a dozen airlines operate here, but the airport is pretty crowded, especially during the morning. The airport is not really easy to get to, but most taxis should go to the airport. For passengers transferring from flights at SVB to DMK, taxis from SVB go with a fixed price.

Airport for now is only reachable by taxi or public bus. There is a trainstation, but this option is very very slow and is basically useless. Check in was rather quick and security appeared to be very busy, however waiting times were as low as 5 minutes only. Plenty of shops around and strong internet if willing to give your document id number in accordance with Thai Cybercrime law.

A small but nice and clean airport. Hard to get there: taxi is the only choice. The staff is very polite and helpful. Lots of agencies offering you trips in many parts of the country, many restaurants and nice selling points.

God awful airport in serious need of renovation. Immigration is slow and inefficient, especially late at night when most of the desks are closed and the Chinese flights arrive en masse. Expect to wait at least 30-60mins to pass through at this time of day. Otherwise, it serves its purpose well enough. Also, make sure taxi drivers use their meters. There is an official, 50 baht surcharge which must be added to the meter price on leaving the airport.
Allow plenty of time to get to Don Mueang when departing, especially during the day as traffic jams are common and frequent in this part of Bangkok. Getting the BTS to Mo Chit and then taking a taxi from there will ensure the shortest travel time.
One upside of this airport is its viewing area where aviation enthusiasts can engage in some serious knee rubbing.... and some photography.

Getting to the airport
I used SRT train from Hua Lamphong.
It is cheap and convenience from bangkok city.
But from the airport, you should't be take a train.Because it is delay many time.

Decent airport with a select few shops and food to offer. Checkin is usually very slow, but security is often done within a few minutes. Freewifi available. Baggage claim is quite quick for an airport of this size. Airport is not easily reachable by public transport (although BTS will be opened soon). Currently a taxi is a must.

You can use bus, railway or taxi to getting in or out airport. The cost of taxi getting in the airport is expensive and easily getting traffic jam on the way. The cost of railway is cheap but it is relatively not punctual.

Worst airport ever. Due to ungoing reconstruction the navigation around airport is a complete mess. Terminal is overcrowded by passangers but on the other hand finding someone who could give you some information is a miracle.

Disgusting interior colors, and strict policy would even mean killing pets that are brought on transit flights. Why so serious, Thailand?
