Upon arrival they lost my suitcase. Luckily it was found later that day in the other terminal. Upon my way back I got the suitcase at the luggage claim office.

only in China they confiscate all the lighters. Shops were closed in the evening, we came in past 9 pm and our flight was at 1 am - nothing worked, hardly possible to get smth to eat.
the security check people were extremely rude - real pigs, shouting at me, dropping my bags etc

Do not bring any yogurt as you will have to either chug it all or throw it out. There was a starbucks right past T2 security - around $5. Plane spotting is boring. The wifi is censored (what'd you expect).

Nice and large airport (t3), but generally dated and not really well maintained for its age (considering it's only 10 years old). Rather convenient from the city center via express train, though check in was long and security was borderline claustraphobic. The nice thing about it were some free showers that are not that well known.

We landed at the right terminal for us to catch next flight. But had to take bus to main terminal. Then transfer to next int'al flight. Had to go through immigration and customs to leave the country. Xray, metal check again. Took 40 minutes this time. No time to rest between flights. Had to take train back to Int'al terminal were we de plane to took bus away before. No efficient at all.

Not happy about being bus away from the terminal that we needed to go to. Had to take to train back to terminal that we landed at. Wash an hour, waster another 40 mins. going through security again. Had to remove shirt and belt.

Worst transfer times at Terminal 3. It took nearly two hours to go through the security / customs for an international transfer. They were understaffed with only a handful stations functioning, and that too at the most busiest time of the day for the airport. The airport is huge and for some reason looks really empty and there are not many things to do. Very limited options.

There is no reason to prohibit lighter for carrying it on broad. It's the only airport I've known that force passenger to throw away the lighter. Also, there is no smoking room in the airport.

When things go not as planned, it's very hard to navigate the system. Everyone gives contradicting information, no one speak decent English, very hard to find someone professional. My luggage was not checked to the final destination and I have to collect it by going through immigration. The baggage handling department gave me wrong information resulting to extra 2 hours waiting. And so on and so forth.

Staff at check-in counter for international flights (Ukrainian company) don't speak English neither Ukrainian or Russian.

The airport is too large,

Moving from gate to immigration to baggage counter took a long long time.

The queuing of immigration is not efficient at all.

Huge airport with nothing much to do during transit. No smoking rooms airside. Wifi almost impossible to get, power plugs are mostly broken and few and far between (but you do have the whole airport to hunt for International transit is complicated and an extremely long process to deal with, and people will constantly cut your queue because they're about to miss their flights! So make sure to get through security if you're on transit first thing you land. Also, get ready to enjoy the vast emptiness of BCIA airside whilst you have a meal or two at Pizza Hut or pop by for a drink at O'Learys. But lots of angles for planespotting, though.

Very clean and modern airport. Immigration was relatively fast, and there was plenty of food available. You need to connect with WeChat to use wifi though (I'm quite sure you can also directly give your phone number).

Really bad airport. Nothing to eat, drink beside open Starbucks and Costa. Forget about shopping. Only 1 shop with perfumes with bad prices.

When you connect from domestic to international at Beijing, you have to go through a large number of checks, including two full security checks. This could probably be optimized a little bit.
This being said, the airport is modern, convenient, pleasant to use...

The restaurants at the airport were amazing, though the service wasn't the best. The layout of the allowed me to travel around like i've been there many times. The food was excellent! Security check (by dog) when you walk into the airport. In some places, there's an X-ray check. Some security officers were nice but others were rude and impatient.

Too hard to get inside because of people, working only one gate abd it took more then 1 hour to get inside the airport. Same situation with check-in to the flight (had trasfer from PEK to KBP). Was working ony 3 check points and there were really more then houndred people, 3 hour for check in!!!!!!

Crazy lines in security check. I arrived at domestic security check of Terminal 2 at 5:30am.The queues are more than 50 meters long and I need more than half an hour to pass through security check.

No spa or massage facilities nor beauty salon for long stay over.
WiFi unreliable. Lounge people were helpful with WiFi as impossible for traveler.

Shops and most of the restaurants closed after 10 pm so not much to do if you have a late departure. It takes ages to get through customs so give yourself +1 hr (at least).

My main issues with transfering at PEK:
- They took my lighter at security. Normal gas lighter. Absolutely no lighters are allowed inside the transit area.
- There are no smoking areas.
- I had almost 6 hours transfer time (without a chance to smoke inside) and the immigration officer didn't let me out of the building (I don't need visa within 72 hrs), cuz he said it's not enough time.
So this transit at PEK was the worst transit of my life.

Passengers leaving the country were piling up at the security check for int'l flights but they only had three lanes open (Reason: most people have gone off work at this hour!). The addition two fast lanes were packed up as well because of the high volume. Barely made it to the gate by the last boarding call.

The flight was delayed because of weather - heavy fog. Original flight from MNL landed in another city and I spent whole night at the PEK airport. Poor information from airline officer, Philippine airlines agent did not give any water or blankets. Only morning offered hotel. Finally flight was delayed almost 24 hours... PEK airport during night is a nightmare...

They have a lounge for priority pass users.
It has a shower room as well.

But there are no air conditionar in the midnight.I don't recommend to use Beijing in the midnight as a transit.

Due to bad weather in ULN my flight was delayed till evening. At Beijing International airport you will find rarely somebody who speaks English. Only stupid smiles with word sorry. Air China company put us in the hotel nearby with typical Chinese lunch. Final waiting was so long...

If you arrive with a long-haul flight around noon, transit is horrible. The queue went all the way through the immigration area and back. Took me nearly 1.5 hrs to finish transit passport control and security check.

Getting to the airport is pretty quick and convenient with the Airport Express Link. The WiFi is not working good and your are behind the Chinese firewall which means no Facebook, Google etc. The immigration is terribly slow and the food in the Air China lounge is very average.

Horrible security control. They took away my backup battery for your phone, all cosmetics (8 subjects, each less than 100 ml, in a transparent package), and even a mini tripod for the camera! I was more than 70 airports and never had such problems. My suitcase is literally turned inside out. Because of these security actions - a very long wait time, I almost missed my flight.

The airport is ice cold (~10 Celsius) in winter, not OK for longer waiting time between 2 flights!
All women in the information desk were very very rude, I can not explain how annoying this was. I am very disappointed about these facts. They have to improve in customer service very much, very soon.
Between 2 connecting flights I must go through the security and all of my drinking water buyed in the starting airport was taken away and dropped to the rubbish...why? They were all checked-in fluids!
WiFi was almost totally useless.
I definitely will search other connection airport and other airlines (eg. Turkish in Istanbul or Qatar in Doha, etc...)

Auful airport. Not so many signs in English. Easy to get lost. Very difficult to find anyone at immigration office at night. Staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful. Taxi drivers are shameless. Could not connect to wifi.

What an amazing airport! It was my first time to Beijing and i had a 7 hour layover till my connecting flight to germany... the Air China busniess class lounge is amazing and even in the terminal everything was at such a high standard took me by suprise crap wifi though

its a massive airport with nothing inside. The immigration is the worst ( 1 hour queue just for the stamp ) . The shop selection here is poor , the baggage claim is slow also. There's only 1 taxi stand and you have to wait even more ... (WAITING is the main theme here )

Allow more than two hours for transfer national to international (or opposite way). You nee to get your luggage and re-check it. International terminal is reached by train, needs some time. And walking to gates might be quite long...
