The worst flight ever ! 4.5 hours delay with no information whatsoever from Kuwait Airways to the point of positive disinterest from their ground staff. Must be one of the worst airlines currently in operation,

This airport is old, worn down and in desperate need of a huge refurbishing and make-over. Getting to the airport is best done by taxi. Check in is a small nightmare: everyone needs to go through scanners to reach the check in desk. Departure refuses every boarding pass you print yourself, so you must go to a desk to get one printed by the airport. Customs takes forever (and of course there's another luggage control before reaching border services). Getting out of the country may take time, as there was only one passport control desk open for all economy class passengers on all departing flights. The terminal doesn't have much to offer. There's a small food court directly to the left of passport control (and they also serve during Ramadan!). Furthermore, there are not many possibilities to sit (just at the far end of the terminal). There are no power outlets available to the public. The business lounge at the end is a joke: just a tiny glass plate to separate you from everyone else, not much done or served there either. Wireless internet is absent (or maybe it was just not enabled during my visit). So bring a book to prevent boredom. There is another luggage security check before the boarding area of your departure gate (which makes three mandatory security checks in total).
All in all, it's not my favorite airport. :)

The airport is virtually 3rd world with huge queues at immigration unfriendly and unhelpful immigration staff, clearly do not want to be there and resenting the fact that they have to provide a service to someone else. Aggressive porters at the airport virtually steal your luggage without asking and then demand minimum payments.
Driving is erratic and dangerous born out by statistics, debris and car wrecks that litter the roads. All in all not a relaxing or pleasant experience.

Kuwait airport just has not improved in the last ten years... Getting to the airport is quite easy and cheap but the airport itself is juts miserable. The staff is unfriendly and rude. Immigration and security took me more than 30 min together. There is no WiFi at all which is just not appropriate for this time. Has to be one of the worst airport in the Middle East.

If you wish to check in with Gulf Air in the evening allow at least 2 hours to check-in. Passengers all arrive at once, 2-3 hours before departure creating large queues. Many passengers have lots of checked in baggage which means its takes time to check individuals in.

Scarily inefficient security checks for departing passengers with scanners bleeping and 'guards' just chatting.... Not impressed at all!

This really is a third world airport. Air con struggles, you are hounded by Indian porters who form a barrier around the trolleys and basically grab your suitcase off the security check next to check in counter and then demand a fee. Immigration staff clearly resent the fact that they are there and having to provide any service. Long queues at immigration counters and when you just about get to the counter it will suddenly be closed as the staff take a break with no hint of apology, leaving you no option but to go to the back of another queue and start all over. All told a tired, dirty and often ill mannered experience for an international airport in a wealth country.

None of the gate screens were working. Security was the most disorganized I've ever seen and the announcements were inaudible. How we made our flight with the gate change was a miracle.

Worst Airport ever!
Schlimmster Flughafen den ich je ertragen musste.
Massiver Parkplatzmangel.
Dachte ich ware in little Delhi gelandet .
Wenn es vermeidbar ist, wurde ich das alte Terminal Kuwait umgehen.
Airport Lounge ist recht preisgunstig aber auch nicht sonderlich schon.

The airport has the feel of a 3rd world country which with the wealth that Kuwait has is inexcusable. The luggage trolleys are virtually cordoned off by Indian porters who insert themselves into your life by grabbing the bags after scanning and putting on a trolley and then taking off only to demand later a fee. Similarly when you arrive you virtually have to push them out of the way to get at a trolley. The check in staff are usually quite pleasant as they are Filipina's, but immigration staff ( Kuwaitis ) make it abundantly clear they do not want to be there.
