This airport is huge, but is laid out really well. There are lots of shops, and options for dining. There is also a great tram to get you across terminals quickly.

Nice airport....they have an observation deck that was quite to get away from everyone for a while. Provided thick foam mats to sleep on if stuck overnight.

MSP is one of my favorite airports, it has very good signage, exceptional facilities to both eat, drink, and hang around waiting for your flight, easy transit system to help link gaps (there's a tram linking Concourses A and B in Lindbergh, along C, to concourse D. Very useful if you're in a rush and have to cover the whole airport.) Security is alright, you just have to pick your spot in line and hope it works at peak times.
Lounges in the airport are satisfactory, and the WiFi is pretty, eh, average.
Overall, MSP is a great airport, I've travelled through it a number of times and I still love it. It's kind of between Atlanta and a smaller airport schedule wise, not scarce but not overly packed. It's the perfect layover airport.

I like MSP for the most part. I must admit, though, that the gate area at G20 was extremely crowded. They have removed many of the chairs and now have stations for people to eat...But where are people supposed to sit?

Living in the upper midwest I've had the pleasure of experiencing MSP A LOT. Minneapolis is honestly one of my favorite airports. It's clean, has a lot to do on long layovers, wonderful lounges, and is easy to navigate. I've experienced a lot of big airports, this is the best.

Airplane was typical for its class although the seats are not great and do not recline much in first. The aircraft also looks pretty dated all round.
Snacks and food on the plane (diner) where of a reasonable standard.

Minneapolis is a MAZE of an airport. It is very hard to navigate if you are new to it. We struggled to reach the hotel shuttles, and there are way too many escalators.
The airport is very large, and could be difficult on a short connection.

I found the immigration very rude and showing an aggressive attitude. For example, passport was thrown back at me on the counter after checking. Facilities were fine though, but the immigration caused me having a bittersweet aftertaste.

The airport is huge. It is a nice airport. They have a lot of unnecessary vendors that can get in the way when you are in a hurry. The signage can be confusing. DON'T have a short layover at this airport.

What's appalling about MSP are the times and distances between the two main terminals and the gates in terminal 1!! I had 3 hrs to catch a domestic flight and almost missed it! I had to be let off at Term 2 although my gate was in Term 1...long story. I knew it'd take longer than usual but T-minus 3 hrs until board ...no worries, right? Yeah. I go in to find out how to get from Term2 to Term1 and after I deciphered the dozen different responses from the help, I find myself on a journey to the transit system... (Rail-line). I'm a big dude and a fast walker. It takes me a good 30 minutes to get to the platform and wait for my train. I waited there with other people who were lost also for about 20-30 mins when the train arrived. I was in disbelief when the train stopped after 30 seconds at terminal 1!! Holy hell! I walked a mile to get to the train station and wait 30 minutes to get 100 meters ?!? Then I think I'm close ...but not so. I have to get on a tram to the actual terminal. Another 30 second trip, quickly through security checkpoints and off to gate G17...AT LEAST ANOTHER MILE! The gates in this terminal and G concourse are grouped in 3's. People movers take you ~100 yards between and to the next 3 gates....and so on and so on until you get to your gate, eventually. Then everyone waiting at the 3 gates is compressed into a tiny area for the duration. I couldn't find a place to sit! Meanwhile, between the gate groups, there are ACRES of empty space.
I'm a pretty laid back guy and not a travel newbie. In all my travels through the worlds' airports, MSP is the worst laid out airport I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. If I didn't have 3 hours to get from door to gate, I would have easily missed my flight!!

Terrible airport design with a severe lack of signage that clearly indicates where you are and where to go (finding rental cars is very difficult. Getting from rental car facility to terminal 1 is an exercise in frustration. Security lines were horrible. at a checkpoint with 4 scanners/xrays only 1 was open on a busy sun morning. Arrived at airport 2 hours early and it took every bit of that to get from rental car facility to gate, only stop was 5 min for a cup of coffee. I hate you MSP.

Horrible signage. Unclear exactly how to get anywhere in airport. There are trams, light rail, etc.. and no explanation of what goes where exactly. Very difficult to find Rental car facilities. Signage to airport from highways unclear about where to return cars. Terrible security checkin lines. Is frustrating to see 4 rows of scanners/xray but only 1 being used on a busy sunday morning.

Miss the old occupying airline, but MSP is always a great stop, plenty of food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly employees. Easy to navigate and has a touch of Minnesota style in it, not many airports these days have that.

My second time flying into Minneapolis, having to transfer terminals can be a bit of a pain if you can't find the tram, but once you do that you're fine!
