Pretty good airport, lots of facilities, shops and restaurants, little hard to get to as the bus requires a separate ticket from the city transport, but it functions well...

Well in this instance I was arriving to Budapest Airport, and while it was a bit crowded after my immediate arrival that was understandable, as to be honest many flight to or from the UK have been delayed today, and even if they could, they haven't been able to help the sheer amount of people arriving from various destinations at the same time.
Other than that, it was my home airport for 20 years, and all of the time it was a pleasant experience to arrive, or depart from here.

No direct train or metro connection to the operating terminal (T2), only bus 100E and 200E (public transport) + shuttle + taxi. So if there is accident on the only road that goes to the airport, you probably miss your flight.

Airport itself is fine. Security check was fast and without any problems. Getting to airport is bad. You have to go by train and bus which can be delayed or metro and buses. It can cause you many problems.

The immigration staff was really unfriendly, and he was rude with the foreigners specially. Bad thing to see that these type of staff is the first point of contact for the foreigners arriving in our contry.

There are many ways getting to the airport. I prefer the alternative unofficial taxis for their competitive price and speed. I still miss the direct train connection. I always use the Mastercard Lounge which is quite poor in the quality of services. (coffee machine was broken this morning, pastry could be much better). All in all I like Budapest Airport, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

The checkin line was pretty long and did not really move at BUD until one and a half hour before the boarding, when they opened another stalls for this flight as well.

You get amazing ice cream at the airport! Just near the Costa Coffee. One must leave on time to get the airport. Good wifi, friendly staff and lines at security check weren't too long

One of the nicest airports I've been to that I didn't stay in that country, simply getting to the Airport is a bit hard from where I usually stay which is in Croatia where most of my relatives are, as there is no flight from Dublin-Osijek or Dublin-Belgrade this is particularly tricky but nevertheless the airport itself is still great.

Really not a good airport for spending time in. There has been improvements from the past because of Terminal A, and flights within Europe leave from there. Although all flights end up at terminal A before going to B. There is not so much to do, the BA lounge is okay but great views from the windows! The free wifi is only for one hour...could be better.

The airport terminal can not cope with the volume of traffic. The facilities for low cost airlines are very poor - it would be something I could tolerate if I knew there were plans for upgrade but no signs of that.
Either open Termonal 1 again (beautiful old Art Deco building) or get their act together and sort out the crowding.

The airport has aged quickly. It's still nice but very aged. For low cost flights it is a long walk to the plane but bear in mind it can get VERY cold in Hungary!
Check in was very long, security tad slow especially when crowded.

Very poor restroom experience. Half of the toilets were unusable due to missing and/or not working toilet-paper holders. Toilet seats are loosely fixed.
Security was fast and professional.
Good selection of food bars, but they are extremely overpriced.
Public bus to the airport runs often and keeps the timetable. Road conditions towards the airport is poor, so You can expect similar experiences like turbulence during flight.

gate 16 to warsaw is outside of the airport, in a metal hangar, you have to walk outside of teh actual buidling with shops/restaurants/toilets and go to a hangar with no toiltes and no seats (8 seast for the whole line of ppl waiting for each plane)!!! half of that time you queuing oustide in the cold/rain.snow.This is laughable. We didnt get to use the toilets as there were none in there and we thought we were just gping to a regular gate. Security took forever. Some people randomly were let into the queue in front of us 3 of them, not traveling together). Why???they also had baggage and jackets to take off.

This wonderful airport is still mainly for ripping off tourists. Starting from money exchange booth, with incredible, 20-40% difference between currency buy and sale rates to food areas where a bottle of water will cost you 2 euro (same as in Venice center). Duty free is only 30-100% more expensive than any moderately priced store on the street.

- Getting by M3 line + bus as usual is not possible due to renovation works. The ticket price for the express bus rose to 900 Ft.

The gate was opened and passengers loaded onto 2 buses which then stood for 45 minutes. When people started getting off the buses the police got involved, telling the airport staff they had to do something- all they could do is tell people to get back on the buses as the plane would be ready soon. Neither passengers nor the police were happy with the airport staff.

The airport simply can not cope with the traffic from low cost airlines. The check in desks are far to short and queues are enormous and snake along the terminal croossing with other queues - a real mess.
The building is modern and clean but allready out of date.
As for facilities for low cost airlines... I expect this is what Heathrow looked after the second world war - a tin shack on the tarmac. If you are young and able you can laugh it off but elderly and less able it is very uncomfortable and long walks, in the winter very tough indeed.

M3 metro is not running on the weekend due to repairs. 100E is also not the best. Horrible security check, queues for check in and security check mixed, people unsure where to queue, no effort to manage the crowds. Burger King, the most popular eatery is understaffed, 1 counter open out of three. Boarding from a temporary building, no facilities whatsoever, standing for half an hour.

Arriving was fine, but I can?t understand why they call the shuttlebuss for 100E, instead of something relatable to an airport. And why is this 3 times as expensive as any other bus ride in the city?, but the service is much poorer. Overcrowded, very hot and and uncomfortable. When I was going home, the whole terminal was basicly a que-system for the sequrity, I?m glad I had a lot of time on my hand. And my gate was in a shelter outside the terminalbuilding. It seems like this airport has reached its max a long time a go.

They always are saying records the number of passengers, but the facilities are the same what it was years before! More passengers, but they have exactly the same amount of security gates.
The passport control is awkward! There is not enough gate and custom agent either! At this time was not too bad, but previously I had to queueing exactly one hour! This is unbelivable! Stansted has much more arrival flights in the same time, but in the worst case, I could pass trough passport control less then half an hour.
Getting to the aiport? Not even worth to talk about that...

Single line per flight check-in is the single stupidest thing I have ever heard of dear Celebi and Ryanair. Especially, where you have 4 other desks open, nobody checking in for a flight. Should anyone have a problem in the queue, all other 50 people would have to wait (and it always happens) while they could have approached empty desks as well. It does not educate travelers, it does not bring money / incentivise purchasing other programs, its only good to delay the flight and cause extensive frustration for customers. Shame on you both!
